Over the last few weeks, weekends have been absolutely inundated with EastEnders announcements — and once again, this past weekend was no different. Now, we’re losing the last member of the Carter clan… and they’ll be helped on their way by some very familiar faces.
Hot on the heels of mum Linda’s exit, as Kellie Bright bows out, son Johnny is also leaving, with Charlie Suff announced as also departing. And what’s more — his siblings Lee and Nancy will be back, having last appeared in 2024. But what brings them home to the Square? Is Linda getting married? In trouble? Or has their father’s body finally been found…

Recent filming has shown the cast busy with two separate funeral services. One appears to be for the departing Zoe Slater, although that’s not confirmed. The other features a different coffin — and a very unexpected mourner: Janine Butcher! In the sneak peeks, Janine is confronted by an angry Linda and Max. But why? Could she be burying Mick?

Onto next week now and Nicola is once again blindsided by her loud, chaotic family — who flee to Walford after their house, and all their belongings, go up in smoke! This week Gemma and Jodie return, alongside Gemma’s son Ryder. Nicola reluctantly allows them to stay… on the strict proviso that her mother Rose stays far, far away.
Cue Gemma’s husband Ned — and Rose herself.
Nicola loses all sense of calm and throws the whole lot of them out, but the rest of the Mitchells aren’t in any hurry to see their relatives disappear. Harry reaches out, offering Ryder and Jodie somewhere to crash.
Later, when Nicola finally finds time for a quiet drink, she discovers the entire family in the Vic. Turns out Alfie and Ned go way back, and the landlord invites his old mucker to stay for the night! A plan to get Nicola and Rose talking without biting each other’s heads off only succeeds in pushing them further apart. Will Nicola forgive and forget, allowing her family to stay on the Square?

Elsewhere on the Square, preparations begin for Howie and Kim’s nuptials, not to mention Cindy and Max’s ceremony. Pregnant Priya throws herself into helping Kim, hoping to distract herself — but Ravi is unhappy. He wants to share their engagement news with the rest of the family.
Priya’s day gets worse when she ends up confessing to Penny about her baby. And then Nugget is caught selling weed on the Square — and Max sorts him out! But a private moment between them is seen by Ravi himself. Will he put two and two together?

Also this week, a bingo night doesn’t go according to plan for Linda and Elaine, but the day is saved by Clive, who asks Linda out on another date. Linda’s keen too — but she also discovers that Max is the one who saved the Community Centre, and has helped Ollie through a rough patch at school. Is that why Max is with her confronting Janine?

<Gulp> Max is being super helpful this week, helping both Priya and Linda… We wonder what Cindy will have to say about that…

Finally, before we go, some late news came in as we went to publish this post.
Lyndam Gregory, who played Guppy Sharma regularly on the show from October 1995 to April 1996, passed away late last month at the age of just 59. All of us here at WalfordWalk.com offer our belated and deepest condolences to his loved ones.
Until next time, take care…
