All the latest updates and news down Walford way!

Tuesday 1st September 2026
Before we start, we have bad news to share: in a shock move, another resident of Walford is leaving the Square — and he’s only been around eighteen months! He’s also become one of the most popular members of the cast and a firm audience favourite, but Pierre Counihan-Moullier, who plays Oscar Branning, has decided to leave the show. The good news? He’s in the flashforward, so at least we have him until January 2027!
But what does this mean for the flashforward — and for Max’s critical decision regarding his kidnapped children?
Max has even more to worry about this week, as he’s due to tie the knot with his latest love, Cindy Beale. But as the week begins, Cindy is not in the best place. When most of the residents opt to attend Kim and Howie’s ceremony instead, Cindy sees red — wanting, like every bride, to be the centre of attention. But by the end of the week, she’ll be wishing none of it had ever happened at all.

As Cindy prepares to say “I do”, what she doesn’t know is that the groom himself, Max, has gone AWOL. Indeed, as Cindy rehearses her vows, the Brannings desperately try to track the ginger lothario down. Hungover, he talks to Linda — which quickly turns into an epic row when the truth about his affair with Priya comes out!
Priya isn’t amused that someone else knows her business and tells her boss so — unaware that Lauren has overheard the entire argument and is just as angry with her father as she is with his mistress. Refusing to attend the wedding, Lauren chucks her father in the direction of the door, where Jack and Oscar are desperate to get him to the church on time — or risk the wrath of Cindy Beale.
But Max isn’t the only person to arrive at the church. Priya and Linda appear just as Cindy prepares to speak… and all Hell breaks loose!

Meanwhile, Howie and Kim decide to have their ceremony in the hospital, as Kim can’t face the day without her beloved sister. And then there’s even more cause to celebrate as, finally, a stem‑cell match is found for Denise!

Elsewhere this week, Zoe returns home with brother Tommy — but something has clearly changed. Zoe discovers through research that dad Charlie’s old cab is up for sale, and is determined to bring it back into the family fold. But an incident with a vodka‑chugging Tommy keeps Kat from joining her daughter. And without Kat to back her up, Zoe argues with the seller… and steals the car.
As Kat despairs at Zoe’s tricks, she is convinced to finally make peace with her daughter… and then everything changes.

Until next time…
