Jack Robbins certainly brought a whirlwind of drama to Albert Square. A former police colleague and old flame of Beppe di Marco’s wife, Sandra, Jack showed up with the clear intention of winning Sandra back. Despite her initial insistence that she loved Beppe, having reconciled with him months earlier, the history between Sandra and Jack was complicated. Sandra had left Jack after suffering a miscarriage, which left her unable to have children. This emotional baggage was just the tip of the iceberg for their storyline.

As much as Sandra tried to deny her feelings for Jack, she eventually admitted she was still in love with him. It became apparent that her reconciliation with Beppe was more about getting custody of her son, Joe di Marco, than genuine affection. The old flames reignited their romance, and Sandra began to plan a dramatic exit from Walford with Jack and Joe in tow. But drama struck when Beppe caught wind of their plan. Just as they were about to leave, Beppe attacked Jack, took Joe back, and cut Sandra off from any access to her son.

Not one to back down, Jack and Sandra threatened to take Beppe to court for custody of Joe. Beppe retaliated by using his police connections to plant drugs on Jack, which got him sacked from the force. However, Jack later revealed that the charges didn’t stick. In a surprising turn of events, Beppe eventually allowed Sandra visitation rights, leading to Jack and Sandra finally leaving Walford together in March 2001.
