It’s that time of year again when the biggest battle in Walford kicks off — and no, it’s not the flowers blooming. It’s election season! With both Ian Beale and Elaine Peacock in the running, someone’s going to come out on top… and you can bet the winner will make life miserable for the runner‑up.

But take a look at the way Ian’s eyeing Elaine this week. Maybe there’s more behind his sudden desire to “bury the hatchet” than we first thought. Elaine might want to keep her guard up though — his new girlfriend Bea’s getting more unhinged by the day!

Someone else who’s been through the wringer lately is poor Ravi Gulati (though let’s be honest, he’s caused half of it himself). After trapping Harry and Kojo, battering Nugget — which will blow up at the worst possible moment — triggering his epilepsy, dealing with Avani and Suki’s desperate attempt to play mum again, and agreeing to become Walford’s newest police informant, Ravi’s been spiralling. Self‑harm, avoidance, the lot. This week he finally takes a step in the right direction when Suki reaches out… but will it be enough?

Next week, Priya becomes so worried about Ravi refusing to leave the house that she lies to him, steals a car from the lot, and drives him out of Walford — except the real plan is to get him admitted for psychiatric help. Naturally, Ravi clocks what’s happening, kicks off, and the whole clan ends up in chaos in the car.

Meanwhile, things are heating up elsewhere — and we’re starting to think we should put money on Cindy being the Bride. Max and the blonde vixen are heading home with baby Jimmy after nursery pick‑up when the weather turns. With Nugget suffering a seizure in the back seat, Priya loses control of the vehicle…

At this rate, Ravi won’t be the only one needing a doctor…

Sadly, there’s one person the doctors can’t save. Nigel Bates is slipping away, and this week Julie reads to him in a deeply personal moment — realising her time with her husband is running out.

And making things worse, stubborn Phil refuses to get involved. So what happens next?

When Sam confides in nephew Mark that the Mitchell siblings — who haven’t appeared together onscreen since 2006 — have never been the same since Peggy died, Mark makes a fateful choice. With Nigel fading, Sam panicking, and Phil refusing to budge, Mark picks up the phone… and calls his dad.

Will Grant Mitchell return to his old stomping ground? We already know the answer. The real question is whether he’ll get there in time.

Until next week…

The Curator
