Well, that was revealing, eh? Yesterday’s episode dropped not one, but two Carter bombshells: Lee is following his mother Linda into alcohol addiction, and he also believes that his father, Mick, could be alive! Could this be? Well, we got interested and went back to 2022 to look at the facts…
We know from Mick’s backstory that an incident as a child left him fearful of water and, even though he conquered his fear, it was never his strongest area. When he dived into the ocean after Janine drove herself and Linda off the road, Linda and Janine both found their way to safety, while Mick, believing Linda was still trapped beneath the water, dove back in. He didn’t resurface.
Janine is currently in prison for perverting the course of justice and gave birth to a baby boy while inside, Mick’s child. We also know she’s returning for a guest stint shortly.
Eventually, the police and Linda drew a line under the situation and had Mick legally presumed dead, but it turns out that Lee, as his eldest son, has overturned this, believing in the possibility that Mick could have emerged amnesiac, with no way of knowing where home is!
Could Lee be right? And is this a precursor to Mick’s return? Will he come back from the dead to whisk his L away to her happily ever after? We’d bet our pay cheque on it…

Anyway, onto the present now, and Amy‘s about to learn that Craig is only after her money as he turns violent and hits her next week! And what’s more, as that’s happening, Jack Branning has teamed up with former love rival, and Amy’s former stepfather, Sean Slater, who promised Roxy he would always watch out for their girl. And when it comes to Roxy, Sean means it!

Meanwhile, Linda’s busy trying to support Nancy through her surrogacy, but Lee feels pushed out and once again retreats to the bottom of a bottle. Can he snap out of his depression before it’s too late?

Unfortunately for Max, when he tries to lend a helping hand, Nancy’s having none of it, warning the Branning lothario away from her family! Not one to be put off, Max later declares to Lauren that no matter what Nancy says, he will be part of the Carter family – whether they like it or not!

Finally, completing the Carter chaos next week, Elaine and Ian once more come to blows as tempers flare up… But with the history these two have, will the pain soon turn to pleasure again?

Stranger things have happened in Walford!
Until next time, be kind.
