Tuesday 29th September 2026
Secrets are becoming increasingly difficult to keep in Walford this week.
Linda‘s relationship with Max faces its biggest challenge yet when Annie and Ollie catch them together. Linda sees it as a sign they should stop hiding, but Max is more concerned with keeping things private, especially when Nancy unexpectedly returns to Walford seeking Johnny‘s legal advice. Her surprise reunion with Linda quickly ends in tears, prompting Linda to reconsider whether honesty might be the best way forward.
Elsewhere, Ian‘s release from prison should be a cause for celebration, but his homecoming proves anything but smooth. Kathy prepares for his return while Harvey tries to support everyone at once, only to find himself stretched too thin. With tempers fraying, inspections missed and vandalism causing further problems, Ian soon discovers that life on the outside isn’t quite as simple as he hoped.
The Knight family also find themselves under pressure. Nicola remains furious after being forced to hand over part of Harry’s Barn to Ned, and old wounds are reopened as George‘s return approaches. A row over their father’s medal sparks another family argument, though Nicola later attempts to make amends. At the same time, she begins forming a closer bond with Ryder, who finally starts opening up to her.
Meanwhile, Penny and Vinny continue struggling with sleepless nights as new parents, while Alfie‘s attempts to support a grieving Kat continue to fall flat.

Nancy returns as she needs legal advice from Johnny, but she asks him to keep her visit secret from Linda.
Linda has to deal with a problem when Annie and Ollie spot her kissing Max. However, Max insists that they still shouldn’t tell anyone about their relationship until his annulment is finalised.
Max informs Linda that Nancy is back, but when Linda comes face-to-face with her daughter, an argument erupts.
Before long, Nancy faces the music as she decides that it’s time to tell Linda the truth.
Nicola is upset that Ned blackmailed her for a share of the club – and it’s clear that he intends to be hands-on with his approach.
Later, Nicola clashes with her family when Jodie unpacks their dad’s medal. She takes her upset out on Gemma, insisting that she wishes the Hawkins family had never moved to Walford.
Elsewhere on the Square, Kathy prepares to welcome Ian home.
Harvey supports Lily at the career event.
New parents Penny and Vinny struggle with sleep deprivation.

As Nancy’s return dramas continue, Linda is shocked when she finally learns what’s going on.
Elaine and Johnny try to play peacemaker, while Linda decides that it’s time to tell her family the truth about her relationship with Max – hoping that they’ll be more honest with her in return.
Nicola apologises to Gemma after George calms her down.
Later, Ned gathers the family at the club to unveil their dad’s medal, which has now been framed. He hopes that it’ll anger Nicola, but he’s surprised when she doesn’t rise to the bait.
Harvey takes on too much as he tries to help Kathy clean the chippy ahead of an inspection.
Kat continues to shut Alfie out.

Ian makes his return, but is clearly still struggling after his time in prison.
Harvey is due to be at the chippy for the imminent inspection, but he gets distracted when Lily needs him to look after Charli so she can attend a career open day.
At Ian’s welcome home drinks, it’s revealed that Harvey missed the inspection.
An argument erupts – and Ian surprises everyone by fleeing…
Nicola shows Ryder the ropes behind the bar.
When Nicola notices tension between Ryder and Ned, she takes Ryder out for lunch and encourages him to open up.
Elsewhere on the Square, Penny sticks up for Vinny, as Suki questions both of their parenting skills.
Thursday 8th October 2026

After bonding with Ryder, supportive Nicola is surprised when he brings his date to the club.
Later, Ryder asks to speak to Nicola alone…
Ian shuts out his family when they try to support him. There’s also trouble when the chippy is vandalised, but Ned steps in by helping Ian to clean it and encouraging him to face up to what happened on the night of the accident.
After speaking with Chelsea, a grateful Ian thanks Ned for his advice.
Penny is mortified when Rose and Jodie both point out that Ethan doesn’t look like Vinny.
