First, let’s get some news out of the way. Sadly, Teddy Mitchell actor Roland Manookian has left EastEnders after 18 months on the Square. It seems Teddy’s stay in prison will be a long one. Here at A Walk Through Walford, we’re quite devasted. We had hoped that Teddy would be a mainstay of the Square.

Now, if you’ve seen the cover, you’ll know we have an all new character joining the Square in the New Year! Weeks ago Honey and Linda were spotted in scenes filming on the new set with a mysterious newcomer.

Now EastEnders has announced that the newcomer will be the character of Bea, one of Linda’s old school friends. They’re brought together at a school reunion – but were they close friends? Or vicious enemies? Or, maybe they were intense rivals?

Bea will be seen in January and played by talent Ronni Ancora, who’s dipped her toe in Walford before! A well known comedian and impressionist, Ancora famously took on Dame Barbara Windsor‘s Peggy for a hilarious scene set in the Queen Vic.

And the big week itself!

Speaking of past acquaintances, the wait is over! This is the week the show airs a special episode feature some familiar faces as Nigel‘s dementia leads him to talk to some old friends.

Warning people, Tuesday’s episode is going to be a corker! Bring the tissues!

And then there’s the big day itself! As Walford prepares to celebrate the season however, an incident will have the police crawling all over the Square! There’s so much happening, some of which you’ll find below…

Zoe has been banging on for a while now (we, know, we hear ya!) and while at first it seemed there was no one but Zoe to blame for the whole thing, now it genuinely seems to be dangerous – someone really is out to get her.

Kat suspects Sam, but after talking to the Mitchell minx, she comes to believe her. Sam, after all, has other things on her mind. We favour the recently bad-tempered Anthony, who seems to be a few medicines short from his cabinet, if you get our drift. Or is it Max – although from the look of it, he has his own drama!

Eventually Zoe’s bad mood brings Christmas crashing down, when Kat, determined that her daughter feel safe, thros everyone out of the pub! In the middle of Christmas Dinner!

Zoe later makes a discovery and, as Kat and Alfie race to the Vic, a situation explodes and soon armed police are swarming through Albert Square…

Max Branning has only been home five minutes and already he’s looking shifty, peering out of windows. He’s obviously not got many friendly faces around, judging by his look in some of these pics.

But, worrying that Cindy and Max will end up screaming in the church as they dip little Jimmy in the font at his Christening, Lauren and Peter sensibly decide that maybe her distant father may want to give the event a miss.

Of course, Oscar tells his dad that, no matter what, family is family, and Max attends the Christening anyway…

On the big day itself, however, a despondent and tipsy Oscar lets a big secret out of the bag. And it’s a biggie.

Now, supremely confident in what he knows, Max stalks through Albert Square, interrupting the Branning/Beale dinner with his usual bravado!

Who was it that said “this will be the best Christmas Walford ever had!”?

And before we go, we just want to share a hearty congratulations to Dayo Koleosho and Max Murray who both picked up awards for their work on the show at the I Talk Telly Awards. Dayo won for his role as Kojo as Best Soap Newcomer, while Max’s Joel took home the trophy for villain of the year! Well done both!

We’ll be back on 16th December with the penultimate Gazette of the year! Have a lovely time. Regards!
