So… what exactly do we know for a fact?

Well, we know that Zoe bears trauma from being the child of abuse. It was this that led to her abandoning her twins at the hospital in 2006 – a year after leaving Albert Square. As for the twins she gave birth to, it seems that the fate of the baby girl is still up in the air, but Zoe appears to believe this child has passed. The other, a baby boy, was adopted – but was presumably given Zoe’s pink Ibiza keyring as a link to their true parentage.

So who is the father of the twins? As tonight’s episode reveals, Zoe doesn’t want to discuss the situation anymore with mother Kat – which implies the father is someone they both know! So, who could the suspects be?

We have to rule out former lover Anthony Trueman – as he left the Square before Zoe. We can also rule out Den Watts. But we can’t quite rule out Dennis Rickman – which will give Sharon even more reason to object to Zoe being home…

Then there’s the bloke that Zoe attacked in self-defence whilst searching for her son. The man’s name was Greg Dolan – the same surname as the Irish family that took Zoe’s twin brother Luke to Redwater, where he changed his name – to Declan Dolan. Coincidence? No such thing in EastEnders!

And then the kicker – at some point last year, Zoe and Max Branning – who always had an eye for a Slater – met up and shared a relationship of sorts. He seems to have genuinely fallen for Zoe – and it’s now only a matter of time before he catches up with her at his old stomping grounds!

But Zoe’s return has had consequences throughout the Square – and there’s more to come this week. Within hours of being home, Zoe was shot by Jack Branning while grappling with Ravi Gulati and his gun! And this week, Vicki takes a pop at her former best friend and almost sister-in-law – and Vicki Fowler doesn’t do anything quietly!

Also, this week, Zoe lets Stacey into even more secrets – but what will happen when Max and Stacey reunite after all these years…

It’s going to be an epic Autumn finding out! Until next time!
