Pushpa Ferreira certainly knew how to make an entrance in Albert Square, with her dramatic and scandalous backstory. The estranged wife of Dan Ferreira, Pushpa left him after having an affair with his best friend, with whom she then moved in. This twist not only rocked Dan’s world but also created quite the stir among their family and friends.

Pushpa was the mother of Ash, Adi, Ronny, and Kareena Ferreira. Despite their separation, her affair with Dan’s best friend and subsequent move didn’t sever all ties completely. Dan, in a rather misguided attempt to keep things under wraps, told Shirley Benson that Pushpa had died. This lie, like all good soap secrets, didn’t stay buried for long.

The truth came crashing down during a wedding when Pushpa made a surprise appearance, introducing herself to Shirley and blowing Dan’s cover story wide open. It’s safe to say that wedding became the talk of Albert Square for quite some time.
