Keith Miller’s arrival in Walford was nothing short of chaotic. He showed up with his partner Rosie, their twins Darren and Demi, and the family dog, Genghis, moving into 27 Albert Square along with Rosie’s son Mickey. Not too long after, Demi’s new born, Aleesha, and Rosie’s daughter, Dawn Swann, with her daughter Summer Swann, also joined the household. Keith, who preferred lounging around watching documentaries, found his incapacity benefits stopped after being caught on CCTV moving heavy boxes by Stacey Slater. He remained unemployed, and it was revealed that he was illiterate. Encouraged by his family, Keith made some attempts to learn to read and write.

Rosie dropped numerous hints about wanting a proposal, but when Keith discovered she was planning to leave him for her ex-husband Mike Swann, he packed his bags and moved in with Garry Hobbs and Minty Peterson. Rosie later begged for another chance, and Keith moved back in with her. Their happiness was short-lived as Keith deleted a message from Mike meant for Dawn, leading to Mike’s mother passing away without him knowing. This led to Rosie kicking Keith out again, and he found himself living with Gus and Juley Smith. Desperate to win Rosie back, Keith proposed, and they got back together, but he dragged his feet about the wedding, showing up late and muddy to the ceremony. Rosie couldn’t go through with it and left him at the altar.

Keith decided it was time to change and began helping more around the house, but it was too little too late. Rosie told him she was no longer in love, planned to move to the Cotswolds, and take Darren, Demi, and Aleesha with her. She convinced Keith to make Darren leave by pretending he wasn’t interested in his son. Darren, upset by the lie, decided to go, only for Rosie to allow him to stay once she saw how heartbroken he was, revealing Keith’s deceit.

In classic Keith fashion, he won the lottery but promptly lost the ticket. After lying about finding a job, Dawn, Mickey, and Darren threw him out. He moved in with Masood Ahmed, who owed him a favour. His guilt over not being vigilant when May Wright set the Millers’ house on fire, nearly resulting in Dawn’s death, led him to heroically rescue her from the flames.

Keith’s story took a turn when Mickey discovered a letter offering Keith a job as a concierge in the Cotswolds, a job Keith had hidden from his family for a month. Realizing he couldn’t risk rejection from Rosie, Keith finally decided to take the job and headed to the Cotswolds with Mickey and Genghis, leaving Darren, Dawn, and Summer in Walford. The tale ended on a hopeful note when Dawn later revealed that Keith and Rosie had reconciled.
