Jodie first appeared on the scene when Darren Miller found her lost in the road. Darren, ever the gentleman, offered to help her out, and they ended up going on a date. Jodie then reunited with her mother, Vanessa Gold, who handed her the keys to a new car and celebrated Jodie’s new job at Roxy Mitchell’s salon. Things got off to a rocky start with Darren, especially when he accused her of stealing his World Cup tickets. But they eventually agreed to have sex, only for Jodie to call it off when she discovered Darren wasn’t circumcised, citing her Jewish faith. This led to a temporary breakup, but they soon got back together, deciding to wait.

Drama followed Jodie like a shadow. Vanessa’s affair with Darren’s boss, Max Branning, came to light, leading to Vanessa’s husband, Harry Gold, dumping her. Jodie, feeling betrayed, dumped Darren and disowned her mother. However, a fire at The Queen Victoria pub brought Jodie and Vanessa back together. They then moved in with Anthony and Tyler Moon. Poppy developed feelings for Anthony, but he preferred Jodie. Despite this, he asked Poppy out, and his feelings for Jodie grew, leading to a kiss that left Jodie feeling remorseful. Jodie decided to leave London because of the kiss, but Poppy, thinking Jodie was lonely without Darren, set her up with Tyler. After some confusion and a heartfelt conversation, Jodie and Poppy repaired their friendship.

In the end, Jodie decided she and Darren were meant to be together and went to find him in Oxford. She and Poppy parted ways with an emotional goodbye, with Jodie determined to reunite with Darren and Poppy moving back with her mother.
