Things move fast in soap. Only two weeks ago we were preparing to welcome back Clare Bates as she reunited with Nigel for the first time in 28 years! And what an emotional rollercoaster it was! Our hearts broke for Phil, Julie and Clare as they realised with devastating finality that Nigel’s time will soon come to an end. And then Clare fled , unable to cope. We know Grant will be back before the tearjerking final moments – check out the pics on the cover – but the petition to bring Gemma Bissix back full-time begins here!

Saying that, it seems, according to Gemma in a chat with the ever amazing Inside Soap‘s Soap Scoop, that Clare may be back sooner than we think and for much sadder reasons…

Onto next week now and Kim and Denise receive a shock when newcomer Sandra Goodwin (played by former Holby City star Dawn Steele), arrives in Walford searching for answers to Jasmine. It turns out, she’s the adoptive mother of Jasmine’s brother Joshua, and she wants to know more about Anthony‘s death. However, Joshua, played by Joshua Vaughan, follows her to Walford! Will he make tentative steps with his newfound family – and how will Zoe react when she realises her son is in Walford – and doesn’t want to see her?

Also next week, Lauren is still feeling nervous after her encounter with a thug and is determined to make sure that nothing of the sort happens again! Unfortunately, timid from her scare, she scares a customer off with her attitude and needs a shoulder from dad Max.

Later, she agrees to take him to the Beales’ Mother’s Day lunch, but the atmosphere turns sour when Lauren’s hero Mark turns up and asks for a quiet word! He comes up with a plan to guarantee her sales – but the cars he’s shifting ain’t exactly on the up-and-up and, pretty soon, Callum and his officers are knocking on Lauren’s door! When a furious Lauren confronts Mark, he sweet talks her, all the while using her business as a front for his dodgy dealings… And will Lauren give in to the undeniable attraction that’s constantly sizzling between them?

Until next time…
