EDITORIAL
Tuesday 7th October 2025
There’s a saying that things have to get bad before they get better – and this week, that saying is in full force in Walford. No matter what has been done and said, Ross Marshall has been on the fence about his son Joel‘s misogynistic behaviour, but as you’re about to see on Thursday, it’s about to get even worse!
After this Thursday’s assault, Vicki flees from the scene and Ross hasn’t witnessed anything. So he’s only got Joel’s word to go on. But when he gets a call from the hospital to say that Vicki has been taken in, he’s horrified that the person he loves is in need – and his son may be responsible!
Soon the hunt for Joel is on – with everyone but Tommy Moon aware of where he’s gone! Will Ross find out the truth from Vicki, or will Joel get away again?
Elsewhere this week, there’s more terror for Harry as his plan to expose Ravi is rumbled! Teddy is worried – but is relieved when Harry calls home. But he’s unaware that Ravi and Okie have Harry held hostage! Will anyone find Harry before things go too far?
And finally, recent drone footage has been seen online that appears to show a familiar face returning soon… an unannounced one at that! It’s being reported by multiple sources, so there may be some truth in it… but the rumour is that Kim Medcalf may soon be heading home as Sam Mitchell!
Also, keep an eye on Nigel and Oscar this week – they make quite the pair!
And finally, there’s an EastEnders Investigates: The Manosphere special right after Thursday’s episode on BBC Three, with some insight into Joel’s current storyline.

Joel asks Tommy for help following his attack on Vicki. Unaware of the full extent of what happened, Tommy agrees that Joel can hide out in the Slaters’ garage.
Ross is horrified when he learns that Vicki has been attacked, but he tries to shut down rumours that Joel is responsible. At the hospital, Ross is relieved to hear that Vicki will recover – but will he find out the truth about what happened?
Meanwhile, Teddy worries as he can’t find Harry. He’s relieved when Harry calls to confirm that he’s fine, but Okie and Ravi have forced him to make the phone call.
Harry begs Okie to release him, but Okie warns that won’t happen unless Harry reveals where the hidden camera is linked to.

Things get tense between Vicki and Ross as they discuss what Joel did.
Meanwhile, Harry finally tells Okie where the camera is linked to. Okie heads to retrieve Harry’s laptop and even flirts with Gina, who gives him her number.
Later, Okie and Ravi make it clear that they’re still not letting Harry go, even though he’s given them the information they wanted.
Elsewhere, Elaine tells Yolande that she wants to turn No.5 into a boutique hotel.

Okie receives a warning from rival drug dealers, who are unhappy over sales taking place on their turf. He urges Ravi to sort out the problem.
Later, Ravi decides to leave Okie in charge while he goes away on holiday with Avani. He asks Okie to let Harry go, but Okie has other plans and warns Harry that he intends to win over Gina.
Meanwhile, Vicki is shocked by news about her case.
Elsewhere, Nigel accidentally causes offence as Julie tutors Lily. Nigel decides to surprise Julie by suggesting a trip to India – and Oscar encourages him to sell his car to help fund it.
Also today, Oscar continues with his efforts to impress Jasmine.
Finally, Elaine encourages Johnny to start his own business.

Okie torments Harry, who’s still locked up, by revealing that he’s going for a drink with Gina. Despite the date, Gina clearly hasn’t forgotten Harry as she expresses her fears to Anna that something serious might have happened.
Later, Harry hits rock bottom and takes drugs to distract himself from his ordeal and Okie’s mind games.
Meanwhile, Oscar suggests taking Nigel’s car for a final drive, but Julie is livid and reminds Nigel that he can’t drive. Julie’s mood improves when Nigel reveals that he’s taking her to India.
Elsewhere, Jasmine agrees to go on a date with Oscar.
Also today, Johnny gets fired after drunkenly sending a business proposal to all of his clients, including his boss.
