All the latest updates and news down Walford way!
EDITORIAL, Tuesday 2nd September 2025
We’ve chuckled around the office this week – mostly at the iPlayer! When it was announced that this Wednesday’s episode would be taken from the iPlayer and air live on BBC1 at 7:30pm, we were keen to see how viewers would respond.
There was, as usual, comments on a huge Zoe reveal: maybe she is the mysterious Cleo and for some reason changed her name to have a son name Joel… There was a theory that she was married or connected to the long-missing Max Branning… We were rather disappointed that nobody thought about bringing back forgotten best friend Kelly Taylor! Who else would like that?
But when the shot rang out, it then became clear that someone is in mortal peril. But who? Could it be the warring Kat and Zoe, who happened to be arguing in that dreaded spot they seem to adore? (Seriously, if it was us, we’d go around, just to be on the safe side!)
Or could it be someone else walking across the Square at the same time?
See you Wednesday at 7:30pm to find out!

But onto next week: Jack and Ravi have a choice: fall with the crime or hide the evidence – and if they need to team up to stop each other from going down, then that’s what they’re going to do! An unlikely truce – so, which of the hardmen will crack first?
Of course, by the end of the week, they’re back to warring – with one attempting to frame the other!

Neither Eve nor Callum have an easy time of it next week either, as Eve is the victim of a homophobic attack! When cop Callum goes to intervene however, he’s stunned to find the attacker is none other than his dad Jonno! Now, what could he possibly want? If it’s to make amends with his boy, he’d better be quick…

Now, while we’re all on tenterhooks, waiting to see who’s been shot, we wonder exactly what Zoe is running from… Back to the theory board!
Regards,
The Curator

Jack lies to DS Spencer about his whereabouts on the night of the shooting, but this sparks further questioning from Denise. Ravi is also called in for questioning, but he makes a very risky move by lying that Jack is his alibi as they were together.
Jack tells his colleagues that he was trying to recruit Ravi as an informant. He then agrees with Ravi that they’ll get rid of the gun, but he ends up having a change of heart when DS Spencer arrives.
Meanwhile, Nigel gets upset when he realises that he’s to blame for the chickens being killed by foxes. He’s also suspicious over Julie’s mysterious phone call, which she claims is related to a possible job. In the end, an overwhelmed Nigel asks Phil to take him away to the countryside for a day trip.
Elsewhere, rumours continue to spread around Walford following the dramatic events of Zoe’s return.

Ravi confronts Jack in the Square after he was a no-show to carry out their plan. Jack reassures Ravi that he’ll get rid of the gun today, so asks him to get away from Walford and act as a decoy for the police.
Later, Jack sneaks into No.5A to plant the gun on Ravi, but is forced to hide when Priya returns home unexpectedly.
Meanwhile, Nigel takes Phil to find a time capsule that he buried with Grant when they were younger. He’s pleased when he manages to lead a sceptical Phil to the exact spot. The friends are shocked by the contents of the capsule, which sparks a heart-to-heart.
Elsewhere, Callum arrests his father Jonno, who’s accused of being responsible for a verbal and physical homophobic attack on Eve. Jonno insists that he’s innocent and blames his friend, but Eve insists that Jonno was also involved. Callum isn’t sure what to believe, while Suki and Eve grow closer after the traumatic turn of events.
Also today, the Slaters try to unite after last week, but there are still plenty of unanswered questions.

Jonno is reluctant to give anything away, but warms up when he finds out that Johnny is a Carter. After a drink with Jonno at The Vic, Johnny tells Callum that Jonno wants to meet him.
Meanwhile, Nigel and Phil return home from their trip to the countryside, but Julie feels sidelined.
Elsewhere, the Slaters face further hurdles as they try to rebuild their lives.

Callum meets Jonno at the flat, with Johnny present for moral support. Although things start off well, Callum soon realises that Jonno wants money.
Callum refuses to help, which causes Jonno to drop the act and show his true colours. Although Callum orders his father to leave, Jonno collapses and suffers a heart attack.
Meanwhile, Nigel and Phil help Julie to prepare for her job interview at the school. Nigel mistakes George for Julie’s previous lover, so amid the confusion, Julie misses her job interview to stay home and take care of him.
Elsewhere, the drama continues for the Slaters.
