All the latest updates and news down Walford way!
EDITORIAL, Tuesday 22nd July 2025
What a start to the week!
So much happened in those two episodes that it’ll take a while to unwrap it all, but how delighted are we feeling right now? Not just for Kat and the rest of the Slater clan – who have just become owners of the Queen Vic, but also for Linda, so she can finally put the ghost of Mick Carter and Bad Christmas Past (see all of them!) behind her and move on.

But some people seem destined not to move on though, as a passing visit for Patrick and Yolande‘s wedding gives another returnee a reason to stick around as Nicholas R. Bailey returns to the role of Anthony Trueman – who hasn’t been seen in Walford for over a decade!

The actor, who last appeared in 2014 and originally left the show in 2005 – twenty years ago! – had this to say on his return!
“It is an unexpected treat to return to EastEnders and I’m full of gratitude to get the opportunity to revisit the character of Anthony,” he said.
“It’s wonderful to work with Rudolph Walker again – he’s such a big part of my journey as an actor and I loved filming my first scenes with him after so long.
“I’m excited to see what the passage of time has done to Anthony and explore his relationship with Patrick at this stage in their lives.”
But in Walford, Anthony has a large history, in particular with Kat and daughter Zoe, whom he was once engaged to! And we all know how history likes to repeat in Walford!
Meanwhile, Nigel and Julie are reunited, proving that home is where you hang your hat – even if it is with Phil Mitchell! And Avani has a mammoth decision ahead of her… but don’t expect dad Ravi to help out – he’s got problems of his own, as you’ve no doubt discovered by now…

We’ll be back next week with more scoop! Keep an eye on the rest of the week though… it’s not over yet!
Until next time, people!
Regards,
The Curator
