Life moves on in Walford next week as we say goodbye to a true Walford icon. First appearing in 1993 with the rest of the Jackson family, this week, after 32 years in our hearts, Sonia Fowler will leave Albert Square… and there’s one heck of twist to come!

This week we prepare to say a sad farewell to Square stalwart Martin Fowler, as he’s getting ready to be laid to rest in true EastEnd style! And as usual with most traditional EastEnders funerals, this one has some guests arriving – that have secrets of their own to conceal!

Last week I mentioned Nicola’s nasty streak – and it didn’t take long for a big reveal! Yes, Nicola is responsible for the disappearance and presumed death of Shireen, son Harry’s ex-girlfriend, who we know has been murdered. And it turns out, jealous Nicola and her sidekick, Benji, were responsible!

That Nicola’s certainly got a nasty streak hasn’t she? Crikey! Poor Zack! How will this one resolve itself? Well, let’s just take a wander over to next week and get those gloves out: Sharon and Nicola are finally coming to blows after weeks of tension! Who’ll coming out on top…

While the weather has been perking up a bit, at least where we are, things continue to movie apace at Elstree! We’ll had looks at some of the new sets that have been built, thanks to the sneaky press and said ‘hello’ again to Reiss, as he continues to haunt…

We’re still sobbing here at the Walford Walk desks, just like Kathy: we remember little Martin being brought home by Pauline and Arthur Fowler on 6th August 1985, where he became the apple of gran Lou’s eye. At least until Vicki came along the following year.
