We hope you’re all feeling festive! We’re doing last minute wrapping here at Walford Walk – we’re hoping for something warm to take the Winter Winds away, but whatever happens, we’ll be having an easier time of it than those living in Walford!
The week in between Christmas and New Year’s is usually a special kind of limbo – we lose track of what we watch, eat, drink and talk about… but we guarantee you will be talking about this Christmas for quite some time to come!
First, Ravi‘s back from his break with Priya, all loved up and ready to start 2026 with a fresh start. But Harry spots him coming a mile away and is filled with nothing but seething revenge for his father’s imprisonment!
Then, having narrowly avoided World War III on Christmas Day, Lauren and Peter fail to keep the peace on the day of Little Jimmy‘s christening when, despite being uninvited and warned, Max turns up at the font – and comes face to face with an angry Cindy Beale!
Duck, Max. Duck.
If that wasn’t enough, we then see Max dedicate his future to his family on New Year’s Eve – and then flashforward a whole year to see how he’s cocked it up!
What? You didn’t expect him to keep things calm, did you?
One Gazette left to go before the end of the Year. It’s coming Christmas Eve. Get wrapping folks!!!

The day of Jimmy’s christening arrives, but Lauren and Peter are worried about what will happen when Max and Cindy meet for the first time. They decide to solve the problem by withdrawing Max’s invitation due to his behaviour at Christmas.
Lauren later regrets her decision and informs Max that he can come after all. Cindy is furious that Max will be there, but the chaos continues when Jack drops a bombshell and Max’s invitation is withdrawn for a second time.
Max decides to do as he pleases by attending the church after all. Lauren and Peter can’t believe it when Max turns up.
Meanwhile, the aftermath of Christmas continues, with those affected trying to make sense of what has happened. With everything getting worse, one particular family struggles to see a way forward.
Elsewhere, Harry returns and informs Gina that he wants to put their relationship on hold. He then plots revenge as he spots Ravi warmly reuniting with his family.

As Max and Cindy come face-to-face, drama follows at the church. Once he arrives back on the Square, Max heads to the club to drown his sorrows. Someone steps in and tries to help Max, but he upsets them by snapping in response.
Nicola is next up as she issues Max with some harsh home truths. Finally listening, Max heads off in the hope of righting his recent wrongs…
Meanwhile, Harry tells Kojo that he intends to seek revenge against Ravi, but Kojo urges him not to. Harry’s day gets worse when Barney declines a chance to move back in with the family – and it’s not long before he takes his frustrations out on Ravi.
Elsewhere, the consequences of Christmas Day continue. One resident tries to help, but their efforts backfire and only cause more trouble for those involved.

New Year’s Eve arrives in Walford and Max remains keen to make peace. He asks for Oscar’s help in setting up a secret meeting with Lauren at The Vic. However, this goes badly when Lauren calls out Max over his recent behaviour and for using Oscar to engineer the meeting.
Later at the club, Max vows that he’ll continue fighting for his family – but will things go his way?
Meanwhile, Honey and Billy look after Nigel for a while, but a confused Nigel mistakes Honey for Julie and tries to flirt with her.
Elsewhere, Penny agrees that Gina can move into her flat.
Also today, Harry misconstrues some advice from Phil as a sign that he should take revenge against Ravi. Nicola worries when she spots Harry trying to jump Ravi.
Thursday 1st January – FLASHFORWARD TO 2027

The day sees Max and his family embroiled in major drama. However, the exact details of what has happened and why will be revealed on EastEnders over the next 12 months.
