All the latest updates and news down Walford way!

Before we crack on with the emotional turmoil of the Highway clan, there’s some cheery news first!
The Inside Soap Awards 2025 winners have been announced and five of our stars are winners! Congratulations all!

But as you’ve noticed, it’s a bit of a downer this week for poor Callum, who is about to attend the sparse funeral service for his late father Jonno. Of course, this being Walford, the Mitchells choose this particularly sad time to discuss his relationship with Johnny Carter!
And things get even worse when his jailbird husband Ben makes a surprise appearance at the funeral! And that’s without brother Stuart causing a scene as well!

There’s also drama for Eve and Suki as they take one step closer to a baby of their own – but don’t count on the family support going through the roof – as the Panesar family declare Suki a terrible mother! Also, Harry returns from his weekend away, and finds that Kojo is still stuck in Okie‘s web! He considers turning himself in, but his dad Teddy has another idea…

Finally, for months we’ve watched as Joel Marshall has expressed his unsavoury views for all of Walford to see. This week, his and Tommy‘s behaviour in school causes issues at home for Kat, Alfie, Ross and Vicki, who have different opinions. It all leads to a show down that has shock repercussions for one family!

And for those who need more, the EastEnders team have been hard at work on a documentary, highlighting Joel’s current storyline and its origins, as well as a look at misogyny in modern society. It’s called EastEnders Investigates: The Manosphere and it airs on BBC Three @ 8:00pm on Thursday 9th October and on BBC iPlayer.
It’s action-packed! We’ll see you soon. We’re getting out hankies ready to celebrate a wedding – or will there be tears before bedtime… Hello Dad!
Enjoy and be safe. Regards,
The Curator

It’s the day of Jonno’s funeral, but Callum suggests that Johnny should stay away so they don’t arouse any suspicion. When Kathy spots the pair kissing, she confronts Callum alongside Phil, Billy, Honey, Ian and Harvey. Callum makes no apologies, hitting back with some home truths. He then tells Johnny that he’s serious about their relationship and wants him at the funeral after all.
Kathy and the Mitchells decide not to tell Ben, on the condition that Callum informs Ben and Lexi himself after the funeral.
Stuart returns for the service – and Ben also turns up unannounced…
Meanwhile, Harry is upset to discover that Kojo is still working for Ravi and Okie. When an attempt to speak to Ravi fails, Harry decides to turn to Teddy for help.
Elsewhere, Suki and Eve agree to go for a drink together following recent tensions between them.

Johnny and Stuart try to keep the truth under wraps, as Ben supports Callum at Jono’s graveside. Once they’re all back in Walford, Ben reveals that he was transferred back to a UK prison after informing on his cellmate – and was then granted day release for the funeral.
Johnny urges Callum to see that it’s best to keep quiet about their relationship, but Callum thinks that it’s best to tell Ben.
Meanwhile, George returns to check on Kojo after hearing that his brother collapsed, but Kojo rejects his overbearing behaviour.
Elsewhere, when they meet for a drink at The Albert, Eve tells Suki that she wants them to adopt a baby together.
Also today, Teddy comes up with a plan to catch out Ravi and heads to Kojo’s flat. When Ravi and Okie return unexpectedly, Teddy is forced to hide in the bathroom.

Harry worries when he learns that Okie has booked a car show for Kojo away from Walford. He quickly realises that it’s a cover for another criminal job…
Meanwhile, Kathy and Julie suggest that Phil should visit Ben on his way to the airport.
Elsewhere, Suki’s family learn that she’s planning to adopt a child with Eve, but they brand her a bad mother and encourage her to reconsider. Suki heads to No.31 to speak to Eve.
