All the latest updates and news down Walford way!
EDITORIAL, Tuesday 12th August 2025
To start with this week, a bit of unfortunate news. Ray Brooks, who played Joe Macer, Pauline Fowler‘s second husband, has passed away at the age of 86.
While on EastEnders, Joe turned out to be a bit of a crook, forever up to dodgy dealing and lying to Pauline. Eventually however, he decided enough was enough and smacked dear old Pauline across the head with her own frying pan (that’s karma for you!). He later was caught out and confessed to Dot and Jim Branning, but fell to his death from an upstairs window and crashed lifeless onto the market stalls below!
In reality, however, Ray is most famous for lending his voice to a famous traveller. As Mr. Benn, of 52 Festive Road, he delighted with adventures from his magical costume shop and, despite only 13 episodes being made in 1971, their legacy is incredible!
EastEnders had this to say about their former colleague’s passing.
“We are deeply saddened to hear that Ray Brooks has passed away. Ray will always be remembered fondly by everyone that worked with him at EastEnders. Our love and thoughts are with Ray’s family and friends.”

1939 – 2025

Okay then. On with our usual.
We received more news this week about an upcoming storyline. We can now confirm that Ricky Champ will shortly be reprising his role as Stuart Highway, after his father Jonno passes away. He’ll be back to support brother Callum, whose sexuality caused friction between him and his father when last they spoke.
And he’s not alone! Also returning shortly is Max Bowden as Ben Mitchell! Ben will be on day-release from prison where he’s serving a six-year sentence for fraud. While it’s great to see Ballum reunited, might Johnny Carter get in the way..?
It’s Walford. What do you reckon?

Also next week, finally, after months of tip-toeing around each other and annoying us all, Ravi and Priya finally decide to take the hints and go on a date together! It’s about time!

But of course, this is Walford, and Ravi’s week is destined to go downhill, fast! When Kojo returns home and finds Okie and his pals in the flat, George is horrified to later find his brother is high on drugs! Not only that, but Jack, the local PC Plod, has no choice but to arrest the vulnerable Kojo!
Can Harry help his friend out, or is he well and truly stuck in debt to the drug dealer?

And Phil also has fun this week, as Nigel and Julie officially move in – and bring the chickens with them!
Whew! Until next week, have a safe one! We’ll be back soon!
Regards,
The Curator

It’s Kojo’s birthday and Harry is ordered to keep him out of the flat all day, while dodgy deals take place. George gets sidetracked with his plans to take Kojo out for the day, so Kojo arrives home earlier than planned and discovers that Okie has taken over the place with some criminal associates.
Okie tries to calm Kojo down by giving him a pill. However, George soon finds Kojo in a terrible state and discovers that he’s taken drugs.
Meanwhile, Phil is annoyed as Julie’s chickens have been keeping him awake. Phil and Julie continue to clash over their different approaches to Nigel’s care, until things come to a head.

Howie also brushes off questions from Jack. However, when Howie confronts Oscar in private, tensions reach boiling point…
Meanwhile, Ravi orders Harry to get Kojo back at the flat – and to make sure that he trusts them again. Harry manages to win over Kojo, so when George arrives with accusations against Harry, Kojo is quick to support his friend.
