All the latest updates and news down Walford way!
EDITORIAL, Tuesday 8th July 2025
Greeting Walfordians! The weather is sunny here at Walford Walk HQ, but we’re much more interested in things down Walford way! With the BBC Schedules all over the place with sporting events (Go Lionesses!), don’t forget all the episodes can be found at 6:00am on the usual days regardless!
Next week, we have not one, but two returns to Albert Square – and they’re poles apart from each other! First, it’s a warm welcome back to Karen Henthorn, who’s returned after 27 years to reprise her role as Julie Bates. Julie left the Square with Nigel and their children Josh and Clare in 1998 to start a new life in Scotland – and it soon becomes clear that she knows nothing of Nigel’s dementia!

Then, it seems the apple doesn’t fall very far from the tree as Oscar Branning, now all grown up, arrives looking for a place to stay! But this is the son of Max Branning we’re talking about – and he’s soon up to some dodgy tricks! Maybe all he needs is his father’s touch..?

Elsewhere next week, Kojo and Harry‘s (rather refreshing) bromance may be doomed, as Harry gets more and more involved with Ravi‘s drug deals! And Phil loses his temper after a trying week – and discovers Johnny and Callum in the act!

Until next time, take care. And don’t forget to vote in the Inside Soap Awards 2025, which you can find here! Happy voting!

With Phil still uncooperative, Jay takes matters into his own hands by calling Julie.
