EDITORIAL, Tuesday 1st July 2025
It’s a quick one this week, as we get a weeks worth of drama in two days! If you haven’t seen Monday’s two episodes yet, rush away and catch-up because, after weeks of wondering, it’s time for Bernie to bid farewell to Walford! The question is will she leave in one piece – or will Ravi take a bigger revenge?
There’s also ANOTHER return on the cards, although this one is of a more sombre nature. After a brief cameo on the answer machine earlier this year, Karen Henthorn is returning after 27 years to reprise her role as Julie Bates – Nigel‘s second wife – who hasn’t been seen since they left together in 1998! The actress shared this in a statement:
“It’s very surreal to be back in Albert Square after 27 years and working with the delightful Paul Bradley again – it’s scary how fast the time has gone!”
“Julie has got some awful surprises ahead of her after the initial relief she feels to discover Nigel is still alive.“It’s been great to film with Paul and Steve [McFadden], who are such lovely actors, as Julie discovers Nigel’s dementia diagnosis and why he chose to hide it from her.”
Might this also pave the way for a reunion between Nigel and his stepdaughter Clare? Well, if Hollyoaks can spare her a tiny moment that is…
Meanwhile it’s also been confirmed that Molly Rainford will also be leaving the show, as Anna Knight bids her family in Walford farewell. Is she going to have a happy ever after with Freddie Slater, who’s also set to depart soon?
Now, onto next week. The episode schedule is a bit all over the place, but at least we’re on BBC One as normal! Although watch those time changes if you’re watching live!
Okay then. Who’s ready to see the final Taylor leave Walford? Oh, Bernie, we’re going to miss you…

Wednesday 9th July – Part 1 – 8:00 pm

Ravi and Suki desperately try to save the Panesar family’s businesses. Ravi resorts to asking Nicola for a drug contact, but she warns him about the dangers.
Ravi ends up asking a dealer called Okie to do a job for him, but is forced to hide his car when the police arrive. Harry offers to help by hiding the car in The Arches, but he and Kojo find a large stash of drugs in the boot.
Meanwhile, Cindy is annoyed that Felix has left her in the lurch, and she blames Callum for kissing Johnny. Lexi overhears, so Callum assures her that nothing is going on. Callum tries to tell Johnny that they can only be friends, but they end up sharing a kiss.
Elsewhere, Peter takes a guitar lesson from Jay after realising that the music helps to soothe Jimmy.
Also today, Stacey agrees that Ian should reopen Martin’s stall.
Wednesday 9th June 2025 – Part 2 – 8:30 pm

Harry desperately phones Ravi as he wants the car to be moved from The Arches, but he gets no answer. Kojo disapproves and refuses to return to work until the car is gone.
Nicola spots Harry in a tense conversation with Ravi and tries to intervene. Before long, she sneaks into The Arches to find out what’s going on. When Harry finds Phil fixing Ravi’s car, he discovers that the stash is gone and quickly accuses Nicola of taking it.
Meanwhile, Cindy spots Lauren hugging Zack and tells Ian that she must be cheating on Peter. During a family picnic outing for Lauren, Peter, Louie and Jimmy, Cindy turns up to make her accusation. Lauren admits that she kissed Zack.
Elsewhere, Elaine impresses Cindy by managing to rescue an event at The Albert.
Also today, Callum feels guilty after his night with Johnny and once again tells him that they can’t be together.
Thursday 10th July 2025 – 7:00 pm

Despite the tension between Peter and Lauren, the couple head to the hospital together for Jimmy’s gene test results. They’re told that Jimmy’s blindness has been caused by a genetic mutation, which is neither inherited or caused by opioid use. Before long, Peter and Lauren clash.
Back on the Square, Peter hits Zack in an argument. Lauren and Peter’s day gets worse when they discover that Louie and Jimmy have vanished.
Meanwhile, Kojo tells Harry and Nicola what he’s done, but Harry is determined to protect him. When Ravi and Okie arrive at The Arches, they discover that the stash is gone. Harry tries to make amends by offering the club free of charge for Avani’s party.
Elsewhere, Linda worries that Elaine is doing too much after her heart attack.
Also today, Anna returns from Spain and is unhappy with George for not telling her about recent family dramas.
Friday 11th July – 7:00 pm

Meanwhile, Harry is touched when Ravi invites him to join Avani’s 16th birthday party.
Elsewhere, Anna suggests that George should speak to Elaine about taking things slowly after her heart attack, as neither she nor Linda have managed to get through to her.
Also today, Denise, Honey and Kathy toast the Lionesses and their Euros 2025 campaign.
