EDITORIAL, Tuesday 18th March 2025
Last week I mentioned Nicola‘s nasty streak – and it didn’t take long for a big reveal! Yes, Nicola is responsible for the disappearance and presumed death of Shireen, son Harry’s ex-girlfriend, who we know has been murdered. And it turns out, jealous Nicola and her sidekick, Benji, were responsible!
Of course, it’s highly unlikely that Teddy, Harry or Barney would look favourably on Mama Mitchell’s murderous admission – and she’s also rattled ex Zack and rival Sharon up as well!
Meanwhile, later this week, an extra mini-episode will be aired during this years Comic Relief event on BBC1, which will feature Phil and will catch us up on what he’s been up to while he’s been away. The episode will see Phil meet another patient at the mental health unit named Andy (played by Jake Rory), who shares details of his time at a homeless youth hostel.
As the pair get to know each other, they soon realise that they have more in common than first anticipated. The episode will air on Friday 21st March 20258 at some point before the watershed at 9:00pm. Of course, it’s not the first time Comic Relief has featured EastEnders – both Whitney Dean‘s grooming story and Liam Butcher‘s tenure with a street gang have previously featured special episodes on the night of the telethon.
Also this week, it’s reached us that Matthew James Morrison is leaving his role as Felix Baker after three years. Here at Walford Walk, we’ll be sorry to see him go and hope one day he returns – he’s a character will a lot of potential and we here in the office feel that he’s been underused. A rare mistake, EastEnders.
Next week, Avani, Lily and Amy’s decision to skip school has huge consequences, Nigel lets a secret slip and Linda struggles as she attempts to find an outlet for her attention. We have all of next weeks spoilers, below. A big story is heading for Walford’s teens…

Avani wants to help Lily through her grief for Martin. She convinces Lily and Amy to skip school with her so they can have an adventure together. Priya catches them, but Avani asks her to keep quiet because it’s important to help cheer Lily up.
The day goes wrong when the girls bump into Marvin, the boy who sold vapes to Avani last year. Marvin offers them drugs and Avani refuses. When the police arrive, they realise the girls have skipped school and spot a bag of pills that Avani dropped.
Avani, Lily and Amy are all taken to the police station. Jack and Jean are on hand to bring Amy and Lily home, but Priya and Ravi fail to answer calls about Avani.
Avani is horrified when the police officers insist they need to strip search her as they believe she could have more drugs hidden.
Meanwhile, Phil is adamant that he doesn’t want his neighbours to know that he’s been in a mental health facility. Later at the café, Phil blurts out that Nigel is unwell when he makes some mistakes in the café. Nigel is furious and snaps back.
Elsewhere, Elaine annoys Linda by taking over plans to rebuild The Vic.
Also today, Kim suggests that Linda should get back into the dating game. Linda dismisses this and tries to set Johnny up with Felix.
Tuesday 25th March 2025

Avani is strip-searched by two female officers and she refuses the offer to have an appropriate adult in the room. Suki turns up after Jean tells her about the drugs allegations. She’s horrified to hear what happened, but Avani won’t let her make a complaint.
Later, Priya finds out about Avani being detained and strip searched. She storms over to confront Jack about Avani’s ordeal with officers from the police station where he works.
Lily and Amy are also horrified when they discover what happened to her friend, but Avani lashes out at both Suki and Amy.
Once alone at home, though, Avani finally breaks down.

Suki, Priya and Eve all worry about Avani.
Avani considers heading home to Ravi’s, but instead goes to the playground and secretly drinks from a bottle of vodka.
Meanwhile, Nigel apologises to Phil for exposing his secret, but Phil decides to brave it out. George tries to be there for Phil, but they struggle to open up.
Later, Nigel lies to Linda about attending his latest doctor’s appointment.
Elsewhere, Linda’s plan to matchmake Johnny and Felix continues. She also agrees to let Kim find her a date for herself.
Also today, Nicola forces Gina and Anna to compete for a bar job at the club.

Priya and Ravi panic when they find that Avani has passed out in the playground.
When they take Avani to the doctor, Ravi starts to realise that something is badly wrong and he gets the truth from Suki.
Meanwhile, George asks Phil to be his sparring partner at the boxing club and this helps Phil to start opening up. George suggests to Nigel that they should hold a regular event called ‘Box and Bantz’ at the venue.
Elsewhere, Harry can’t resist winding Gina up when he oversees her and Anna’s trial at the club.
Also today, Linda meets her new date Jeff at Harry’s Barn.
