Walford Gazette #1

Hello all! We’re well into January now, but the excitement hasn’t stopped! While the TV unfogs after THAT Denise and Ravi Doof-Doof, we’re looking forward to even more, with Cindy coming out of hospital this week – and finding herself with a very surprising housemate. There’s also an arrest, as the police take in one Walford resident for questioning about Cindy’s attack!

Meanwhile, the show has announced that the viewers will get to decide who D ends up with in an interactive vote set up for the 40th Anniversary Live Episode! It’s a choice between Ravi and Jack – and we get to decided. More details coming soon!

After waking up from her coma, Cindy seeks answers over what happened to her. DCI Arthurs arrives to interview Cindy and she’s shocked to learn that she was most likely attacked by someone close to her.

Peter and Lauren pay a visit to Cindy, but she continues her tense feud with Lauren. Later, the police arrive at The Vic to arrest Lauren for attempted murder.

Meanwhile, Denise and Ravi continue to spend time together in secret, but Nugget catches them kissing.

Elsewhere, Nigel convinces Phil to attend Raymond’s birthday party alongside the Brannings. The gathering goes wrong when Phil clashes with Denise.

Also today, the day of Sonia’s trial arrives. At the prison beforehand, she begs Reiss to help her prove her innocence. Sonia also insists on having Bianca there to support her, but when she arrives in court, she’s shocked that neither Reiss or Bianca are there.

Finally, Nicola is jealous when Teddy and Sharon go off for a spa break together.

Lauren is questioned by the police following Cindy’s recollections from the night of her attack. Peter is concerned to realise that Lauren was arrested due to Cindy’s statement, so he urges her to retract it.

Later, Lauren confides in Peter about what happened on Christmas Day.

Meanwhile, Denise fears that she may lose her family due to her secret affair with Ravi. Ravi promises to take control of securing Nugget’s silence, but he gets jealous when he later spots Denise enjoying a warm moment with Jack. Ravi warns Denise that he won’t be anyone’s dirty secret for long.

Elsewhere, Yolande encourages Nigel to be honest with Phil over what’s happening with his health.

Wednesday 15th January 2025

Lauren’s revelation over Christmas Day sparks fresh tensions between her and Peter. Cindy is told that she’ll be discharged from hospital tomorrow, so Peter promise to find her a place to stay.

Ian refuses to let Cindy move back in, so Peter tricks Reiss into letting Cindy have the spare room at his house. Later, Peter’s problems get worse.

Meanwhile, Martin informs Reiss that Sonia’s trial has been adjourned due to his recent actions.

Elsewhere, Denise refuses an invitation to go for lunch with Jack, insisting that they shouldn’t blur the lines of their friendship. She then assures Ravi that she’s no longer interested in Jack, but stresses that they can’t go public because she doesn’t want to lose Chelsea.

Later, Jack intervenes when a group of men behave inappropriately towards Chelsea at the club, but a violent tussle sees him get punched. Nicola invites Jack to clean himself up in the office.

Also today, Ruby feels side-lined when Stacey offers to help Martin with his fight to save the market.

Cindy returns to the Square after being discharged from hospital, but she continues to face hostility – with Ian particularly vocal over the situation.

Cindy soon struggles with having to share a house with Reiss, while Peter finds it difficult to support both his mum and Lauren.

Meanwhile, Denise thanks Jack for helping Chelsea and invites him out for a drink.

Elsewhere, Ruby is jealous when she spots Martin and Stacey chatting about the market. Later, Mr Lister arrives with news from the council.
