EDITORIAL, Wednesday 11th December 2024
Here we are then. The festive highlight of the year (okay, Doctor Who is mine, but there’s room for both!) for us here at The Walford Gazette and it’s the last one before the big 4-0! Now there’s been some speculation in the press about some old friends (Mr. Bates, I’m looking at you…) and we don’t want to comment on future storylines with our speculation, but suffice to say we don’t expect just some Carter kids to drop by before February is out… In fact, we’d venture to say, like Mickey this week, there’ll be several surprises very, very soon…
On the home front here, the article and character section is now complete, and we even have this year’s The Year Was… article earlier than planned! So if you want a recap before all Hell breaks loose then look no closer than The Year Was… 2024!
Check out that promo shot? Wow! Look almost biblical wouldn’t you say? Cindy with no clue the chaos that’s about to unfurl; Ian and George, always competing, even if they don’t mean to! Gina and daggers at Lauren: has she cottoned on to Lauren’s new drug habit? Peter and Anna don’t look too happy with each other either. Maybe they should take a leaf out of Kathy‘s book and enjoy the alcohol! That’s always a fun thing to witness! And where, oh where, is Linda? I suggest everyone pay close attention on the 16th December…

Cindy discovers that an incriminating recording, which contains details of her affair with Junior, has fallen into the wrong hands. As Cindy tries her best to keep the truth under wraps, can she do enough to scare off her blackmailer?
Meanwhile, Peter and Lauren continue to argue about recent events.
Elsewhere, Yolande continues to shut out those close to her, but she feels guilty when Patrick points out that she has forgotten it’s the anniversary of his son Paul’s death.
Also today, Stacey is shocked to discover that Martin and Ruby are now living together. Martin assures Stacey that nothing romantic is going on, but he says the wrong thing and accidentally offends Stacey.
Finally, Kim’s latest efforts over the Christmas choir don’t go according to plan.

As Cindy fears for her future, she makes a plan that shocks her family. Her worries intensify when she receives another piece of damning information. At the same time, George invites Cindy and the Beales to join his family for Christmas dinner at The Vic tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Kim and the market traders are faced with a mix-up when the wrong calendar arrives. Will Kim’s day improve when the choir service begins?
Elsewhere, Nicola continues to struggle with her jealousy over Teddy and Sharon, while Phil shuts out his family as he remains at home.
Also today, it’s the day of Pastor Clayton’s burial and Yolande meets up with other women who were assaulted by him.
Finally, Ravi grows closer to Denise as he promises to keep her safe.

It’s Christmas Day in Walford and Cindy’s secrets are exposed at The Vic, causing all hell to break loose for the Beale and Knight families.
Meanwhile, Sharon notices that Phil isn’t his usual self when she heads over to give him a present.
Phil goes ahead and attends the Mitchell family’s meal with the rest of the family, but he leaves early after spotting Sharon and Teddy share a cosy moment.
Elsewhere, Ravi gives Denise a present from Avani. Denise starts to struggle with having feelings for both Jack and Ravi.
Also today, Stacey is annoyed when Ruby arrives at her place on Christmas Day. Later, Martin returns from visiting Roman in hospital.
