Ritchie Scott, the Mitchells’ go-to solicitor, first stepped into Walford to advise on Phil’s upcoming trial and quickly became a fixture in their legal dramas. In March 2016, she was called in by Ben and Ronnie to help seize control of Phil’s businesses due to his erratic behaviour. Although Phil threw them out and yelled at Ritchie, she remained undeterred and later brought Phil home from the police station after his dramatic car lot destruction. That April, Ritchie refused to represent Jay when he was arrested for his relationship with an underage girl but advised him to talk to the duty solicitor.

In May 2016, Sharon hired Ritchie to represent Bobby Beale after his arrest for assaulting Jane Beale. Despite Ritchie’s advice to stay silent, Bobby confessed to Lucy’s murder. Ritchie continued to support the family, advising Ian and Jane on how to handle Bobby’s defense, and even attended his sentencing. Despite her efforts, Bobby was sentenced to three years in youth custody. Ritchie suggested appealing the sentence but ultimately left the decision to Bobby.

Ritchie’s involvement didn’t end there. In October 2016, she helped Phil amend his will to include his children and Sharon’s son. She returned in 2018 to help the Carters free Mick Carter from prison, and again in 2019 when Phil had her amend his will to include Louise’s fiancé, Keanu Taylor. In April 2020, Ritchie tried to help Phil when he handed himself into the police for a boat accident that led to Dennis’ death, but she had to leave him to handle it on his own as he blamed himself.

Throughout her time in Walford, Ritchie Scott has remained a steadfast and crucial ally to the Mitchells, navigating them through countless legal battles with her unwavering expertise and calm demeanour.
