Dr. Oliver Cousins certainly knew how to make an entrance in Albert Square! He first appeared on the scene in a rather memorable fashion—getting knocked over by Dot Branning and then locked out of his house naked. Thanks to Mo Harris picking the lock for him, and an unfortunate towel mishap, Oliver found himself with only his hands to maintain some modesty. Despite the comedic beginnings, Oliver quickly established himself as a caring and dedicated doctor, offering advice to Honey Edwards about her unborn baby and helping find a runaway Ben Mitchell. However, it was his interactions with Little Mo Mitchell and her baby Freddie that truly intertwined his fate with the Square’s drama.

Romantic sparks flew when Oliver and Little Mo went on a date, sharing a kiss on her doorstep after she confided in him about her struggles with Freddie. However, things took a darker turn when Mo admitted she had nearly hit Freddie out of frustration. When Freddie later sustained an injury, Oliver, trying to do the right thing, told his colleague Dr. Briony Campbell, who then involved Social Services. Mo, suspecting Ben Mitchell was the actual culprit, felt utterly betrayed by Oliver and ended their relationship. Oliver, offered a job in Leeds, decided it was time to leave Walford.

Before departing, Oliver discovered that Ben had indeed injured Freddie and was pressured by Phil Mitchell to keep it quiet. In a dramatic turn, Oliver tried to convince Mo to go to the police, but she refused. Their attempt to explain things at the Queen Vic ended disastrously, with Peggy Mitchell publicly shaming Mo, and Oliver nearly revealing the truth before Mo stormed out. The next day, a drunken Oliver had to be helped home by Dawn Swann, sparking more misunderstandings.

Ultimately, Oliver’s proposal to Mo seemed to offer a glimmer of hope, but a series of unfortunate events, including a misunderstanding involving Dawn, led to their final breakup. As Little Mo prepared to leave for Barnstaple, Oliver made one last attempt to convince her to join him in Leeds, but she chose to go her own way with Freddie.
