Kareena Ferreira and her family arrived in Albert Square in 2003, bringing a fresh wave of drama with them. Kareena, alongside her brother Adi, ran a clothes stall on the market, making her presence known with her charm and business acumen. Her brother Ash took up a job at the local community centre, while Ronny earned his keep as a DJ, managed by his pal Tariq Laroussi, who didn’t exactly get along with their father, Dan Ferreira. The plot thickened when it was revealed that Tariq and Kareena were secretly an item, a revelation that didn’t sit well with Dan, especially after their breakup.

Kareena’s love life continued to be a rollercoaster when she started dating Mickey Miller. Their relationship hit a rocky patch when Juley Smith entered the scene, offering Kareena cocaine and seducing her. Despite this dramatic twist, Kareena and Mickey managed to patch things up, proving that their bond could withstand even the most scandalous of obstacles. But love and life in Walford were never simple, and Kareena’s troubles were far from over.

The Ferreira family’s business took a dangerous turn when gangster Johnny Allen loaned them several cars, three of which were stolen. Johnny, not one to let such a slight go unpunished, ordered the Ferreira family to leave Walford immediately or face severe consequences. In true EastEnders fashion, the pressure was on, and decisions had to be made quickly.

Initially, Kareena decided to stay in Walford with Mickey, showing her determination to carve out her own path despite the looming danger. However, the gravity of the situation with Johnny Allen and the pressure from her family proved too much. At the last minute, she chose to leave with her family, departing Albert Square in March 2005.
