Adi Ferreira brought a blend of ambition and family drama to Albert Square when he moved in with his family in 2003. Alongside his sister Kareena, Adi ran a clothes stall in the market, while his brother Ash worked at the community centre and Ronny earned money as a DJ, managed by his friend Tariq Larousi. The family dynamics were anything but peaceful, especially since Dan Ferreira, the patriarch, disapproved of Tariq, unaware of the deeper connections lurking beneath the surface.

Adi’s romantic life was a rollercoaster from the start. He got involved with Sasha Perkins, a pole dancer and escort, initially paying her to pose as his girlfriend to impress his father. Despite his efforts, he never managed to win his father’s approval. Things took a dark turn when Ronny was stabbed while protecting Tariq and needed a kidney transplant. None of the Ferreira siblings were a match, so they turned to their mother, only to discover her kidney wasn’t suitable either. The family drama escalated when Tariq revealed he was Dan’s son and offered his kidney to Ronny, hoping it would bring him closer to the family. Adi was initially hostile towards the revelation but eventually mellowed, accepting Tariq as his half-brother.

The Ferreira family faced financial difficulties that led to their eviction. They boarded themselves into their living room in a last-ditch effort to stay, but ultimately admitted defeat and moved into a flat with Sasha, starting a minicab firm called Toucan Cars. Adi’s relationship with Sasha hit the rocks when she cheated on him with Danny Moon, leading to their breakup. The troubles didn’t end there; their business faced a significant blow when three cars loaned by gangster Johnny Allen were stolen. Johnny, never one to take things lightly, ordered the family out of Walford to avoid severe repercussions.
