Martina Quinn brought a splash of Spanish drama to Albert Square, and boy, did she know how to stir the pot! She reconnected with her old friend Kat Moon, but it wasn’t exactly a warm reunion. Martina had reported Kat and her husband Alfie to the police in Spain, sparking some fiery animosity. When Martina and her daughter Shenice turned up at The Queen Victoria, Kat’s welcome involved a good dousing with water — classic Kat style. Martina spilled that her bar had been trashed by the cops, and she’d feared losing Shenice if she didn’t snitch.

With nowhere else to go, Kat and Alfie let Martina and Shenice stay. But after a wild night out, Martina spent the next day in bed, leaving Kat to discover Shenice dressed up in her clothes and makeup. Kat’s sharp words made Shenice flinch, thinking she was about to get a slap. Trouble followed Shenice too; the very next day, she got caught nicking cigarettes from the local shop, much to Kat’s ire. A drunken Martina’s harsh words to Shenice didn’t help, but Shenice assured Kat and Alfie that her mum didn’t mean it when she was tipsy.

Martina soon promised Kat that she’d get some money together and move out with Shenice, claiming she was back with her boyfriend. As if forgetting Shenice’s birthday wasn’t enough, Kat and Alfie had to step in to throw a party. Things got tense when Shenice clashed with Tiffany Butcher over matching outfits. The party was cut short when Martina found a new place, and off they went, leaving Kat and Alfie heartbroken.

Back in Spain, Martina and Shenice settled down, but the drama didn’t end there. Shenice eventually returned to Walford with Kat and Alfie after a holiday. Later, when Shenice visited Martina in Spain, she found her mum more settled, and decided to stay.
