Mickey Miller, the cheeky chappy of Albert Square, was always up to something. Born to Mike Swann and Rosie Miller, Mickey had a rough start when his dad left the family when he was just three. Growing up with his sister Dawn and half-siblings Demi and Darren, Mickey always saw his mum’s partner, Keith Miller, as his real dad and proudly took his surname.

Mickey first rocked up in Walford in 2003, selling dodgy goods to Spencer Moon. He quickly teamed up with Mo Harris for more money-making schemes. When he wasn’t hustling, Mickey worked as a builder and sold trinkets on Bridge Street market with his mate, Juley Smith. One memorable escapade saw Mickey crash a minibus on a moor during a trip to Scotland, nearly taking Zoe Slater out in the process. Classic Mickey!

In 2004, Mickey fell head over heels for Kareena Ferreira. Things got messy when he found out she was using cocaine, thanks to Juley. After a dramatic showdown involving Stacey Slater and a near-brawl with Juley, Mickey and Kareena patched things up, only for her to leave Walford with her family. Mickey’s love life was never simple. He later dated Li Chong, who tested his patience by growing cannabis in their flat and signing him up as a male escort without his consent. Their relationship ended when Mickey got too serious for Li’s liking.

Mickey’s time in Walford wasn’t all fun and games. He faced bullying from Sean Slater, who vandalised his property and assaulted him. Things took a darker turn when Dr. May Wright knocked Mickey out with a crowbar while trying to kidnap Dawn’s baby, Summer. Mickey heroically stopped May, but not before a gas explosion set the Millers’ house ablaze. Despite the chaos, Mickey managed to save Summer and Dawn, proving he was more than just a lovable rogue.

In 2008, Mickey decided it was time for a change. After discovering a letter offering Keith a job in the Cotswolds, Mickey took the opportunity to leave Walford, saying there was nothing left for him there. He left after an emotional farewell at The Queen Vic, taking Keith and their dog Genghis with him. A return for Darren’s wedding saw him take his brother with him when he left.

In 2024, Mickey made a brief return to the Square, and although he had made his money and the Millers were settled, he still remained the lovable cheeky chappy he was when we first met him – and made sure to tell an emotional Big Mo how grateful he was for her place in his heart!
