Anthony Moon’s arrival in Walford was anything but ordinary. Posing as a council member to help his dad, Eddie, eject a squatter, Anthony quickly decided to stick around and help set up their antiques business. His knack for spotting valuable items got him into hot water when he bought some candlesticks from Cora Cross, who later accused him of scamming her. Things took a turn for the worse when Anthony, battling a gambling addiction, stole £8000 from Eddie’s safe to bet on his brother Tyler’s boxing match. Despite Tyler’s win, Anthony had to confess his theft, leading to a dramatic fallout with Eddie.
Life in Walford didn’t get any easier for Anthony. When Jodie Gold and Poppy Meadow needed a place to stay, he invited them to move in with him and Tyler. Sparks flew between Anthony and Jodie, but a kiss that went nowhere left Poppy heartbroken. Anthony’s romantic misadventures continued when he got involved with Amira Masood. Despite their chemistry, Amira’s lingering feelings for her ex, Syed, made things complicated. A dinner at her family’s home turned into an awkward affair, leaving Anthony frustrated.
Anthony’s troubles escalated when Derek Branning demanded £4000 for some goods. Short on cash, Anthony gambled what he had left and lost. Derek’s threats forced Anthony to seek help from Michael, who instead called the police, leading to more chaos. With their debt doubled, Anthony and Tyler confronted Michael, only for Janine Butcher to step in and pay off the debt, but not before Michael took a beating from Derek.
Amira and Anthony’s relationship hit a rocky patch when a small argument with Christian Clarke led to Amira seeking comfort at Anthony’s place. They ended up sleeping together, but Amira’s regret was palpable. She left Walford without telling Anthony, leaving him to find out from Syed. Anthony’s luck with love didn’t improve when Alice Branning took a liking to him. Forced by her father, Derek, to take her out, Anthony’s attempts to put her off failed. A game of spin the bottle led to a kiss, and Anthony decided to give it a real shot, only to be manipulated into a poker game by Joey Branning, resulting in Anthony losing the emporium.
In the end, Anthony’s time in Walford was marked by a series of unfortunate events and romantic missteps. His gambling addiction and the constant pressure from Derek Branning led to his departure from Walford, leaving behind a trail of broken hearts and unfinished business. As he left via the tube station, one couldn’t help but wonder if Anthony would ever find the stability and happiness he so desperately sought.
