Amira Masood, the glamorous and high-maintenance girlfriend of Syed Masood, certainly knew how to make an impression in Walford. She first arrived on the scene when Zainab invited her for dinner, only for Syed’s brother Tamwar to spill the beans about Syed’s less-than-successful ventures. After a brief fallout, Amira returned, claiming her father had disappeared, and soon enough, she was back in the Masood family fold, trying to win over Zainab by singing at Bushra Abbasi’s event and landing a job at Tanya Branning’s beauty salon.

Syed’s proposal to Amira was a whirlwind of drama. She confessed to Zainab that her father was in prison for fraud, but Zainab, ever the pragmatist, decided the wedding could go ahead if Amira kept Syed happy. Amira’s father, Qadim, initially refused to bless the union, but after some stolen money and a lot of family tension, he eventually came around. The wedding went off without a hitch, but little did Amira know, Syed was grappling with his feelings for Christian Clarke.

Post-honeymoon life was anything but blissful for Amira. She tried to seduce Syed, only to be rebuffed, leading to a regrettable kiss with Danny Mitchell. When she finally confessed to Syed, they managed to patch things up and even talked about starting a family. However, Amira’s secret use of birth control pills caused another rift. Despite these ups and downs, Amira’s determination to make her marriage work was unwavering, even as she struggled with Syed’s emotional distance.

Amira’s life took another dramatic turn when she received a cheque from her father and decided to rent a flat with Syed. Her increasing frustration with Syed’s aloofness led her to confide in Christian, whose advice helped rekindle her relationship with Syed. However, the revelation of Syed’s affair with Christian shattered her world. Despite her initial disbelief, the truth eventually came out, and Amira was left heartbroken, clutching her stomach as she left Walford, secretly pregnant.

In 2011, Amira returned to Walford with her daughter Yasmin, hoping to reconnect with Syed. The reunion was anything but smooth, with Amira demanding that Syed choose between her and Christian. The ensuing drama saw Amira trying to manipulate Syed into spending more time with Yasmin, leading to a series of confrontations and revelations. Despite her efforts, the truth about Yasmin’s paternity and Yusef’s scheming ultimately led to Amira’s departure from Walford, leaving behind a trail of broken hearts and shattered dreams.
