Tyler Moon, the cheeky chappy of Albert Square, burst onto the scene with his dad Eddie and brother Anthony in tow. Working at his dad’s antiques emporium, Tyler quickly made a name for himself. He took up boxing and floored his first opponent, blissfully unaware that his brother Michael had paid the guy to take a dive. Classic Michael, always up to something! Tyler’s love life was just as eventful, starting with a fling with Poppy Meadow, who was only using him to make her boyfriend jealous. Poor Tyler, always the pawn in someone else’s game.

Michael, never one to miss a chance to stir the pot, manipulated Tyler into an unlicensed boxing match against the notorious Artie Stiller. Despite taking a beating, Tyler emerged victorious, only to collapse with a seizure right after. A stint in the hospital later, Tyler discovered Michael’s deadly intentions and turned the tables, intimidating his scheming brother for a change. Tyler’s romantic escapades continued with Whitney Dean, though their relationship was short-lived. A one-night stand with Whitney’s best mate Lauren Branning led to a casual fling, much to Whitney’s jealousy.

Derek Branning added to Tyler’s woes, demanding £4000 for some dodgy dealings. With only £3000 to hand, Tyler and Anthony resorted to stealing copper wire from train tracks. Michael, ever the troublemaker, called the police, leading to Derek’s arrest and a debt increase to £8000. Janine Butcher stepped in to pay off the debt, but not before Michael took a beating from Derek. Tyler’s declaration of love to Whitney was met with a kiss, but their relationship hit the rocks when she caught him kissing Lucy Beale. A grand gesture with Valentine’s balloons won her back, and they became a couple.

Whitney’s pregnancy scare had Tyler in a tizzy, but he eventually warmed to the idea of fatherhood. When it turned out to be a false alarm, Tyler moved in with Whitney, only to find himself under Derek’s watchful eye. A visit to Eddie revealed Anthony’s departure and Derek’s takeover of the business. Tyler’s market stall days selling Derek’s stock were short-lived as he and Whitney considered getting their own place. A kiss with Joey Branning led to a fight and a breakup, but Tyler’s heartfelt proposal brought them back together. However, his insensitivity over the death of Tony King drove Whitney away for good.

In a final twist, Tyler, with Michael’s help, conned Danny Pennant out of his sports car and left Walford to work on a cruise ship with Anthony.
