Ray Dixon’s arrival in Walford was anything but ordinary. When Morgan asked about his dad, Bianca cheekily claimed it was Barack Obama. Whitney Dean, knowing the truth, took matters into her own hands and introduced Morgan to Ray. Ray soon made his way to Walford, saving Kim Fox from a falling ladder in the process. Kim was instantly smitten, but Bianca wasn’t thrilled about Ray’s sudden presence. Despite the initial tension, Whitney convinced Bianca to let Morgan see Ray again. Ray’s attempt to bond with Bianca’s family hit a snag when he revealed he had a daughter, Sasha, leading to Bianca throwing him out.

Ray didn’t let that setback keep him down. He landed a job as a barman and chef at The Queen Vic, where his first day was marked by Sasha’s arrival. Ray’s pursuit of Kim was relentless, but she wasn’t keen on his “baggage.” Meanwhile, Bianca misread Ray’s kindness and tried to kiss him, only to be gently rebuffed. Ray’s generosity shone through when he gave Bianca £300 to help with her financial struggles. His persistence with Kim finally paid off after a head lice incident, leading to their first kiss.

Kim’s jealousy flared when Ray playfully flirted with Roxy Mitchell and Bianca. In a fit of rage, she accidentally sliced off the top of Ray’s finger while filleting fish. This mishap brought them closer, and they decided to start a relationship. Ray’s life took another turn when Bianca was imprisoned, and her mother Carol moved the kids closer to the prison. Ray, realizing he couldn’t make Morgan choose between him and his mother, let him go. He then invited Sasha to stay, much to Kim’s initial reluctance. However, Kim soon warmed up to Sasha, and the couple declared their love for each other.

Ray’s joy was complete when Morgan returned for Janine Butcher’s wedding. A spat with Ricky Butcher over parenting methods ended in reconciliation, with Ray thanking Ricky for raising Morgan. Ray moved into Kim’s B&B after a rent hike, but a lie about work experience for Sasha led to a brief fallout. Kim made amends by securing a placement for Sasha with Les Coker’s funeral directors, and Ray and Kim patched things up.

Ray’s secretive behaviour raised Kim’s suspicions of an affair, but it turned out he was arranging a flat for Sasha’s mother, Deanne. Despite feeling humiliated, Kim reconciled with Ray. An incident with a police officer accusing Ray of mugging led to him starting a mentoring scheme, “Fighting Fit,” at the local boxing club. A misunderstanding involving a kiss with Denise Fox caused a rift between Kim and Denise, leading to Ray ending his relationship with Kim. However, they eventually resumed their relationship, only for Ray to decide to leave Walford to be closer to Sasha. Kim, realizing Ray didn’t truly know her, broke up with him just before they were due to leave together, and Ray left alone.
