Nikki Spraggan was the kind of character who thrived on drama, and boy, did she know how to stir the pot! From the moment she waltzed into Walford, it was clear she enjoyed being the centre of attention. Her ex, Terry, could attest to that, as Nikki seemed to have made it her life’s mission to make his life intermittently hell. She didn’t want Terry, but she sure didn’t want anyone else to have him either. With Bianca Butcher now in the picture, Nikki worked overtime to ensure that Terry’s happiness was thoroughly disrupted.

Despite her chaotic love life, Nikki had a soft spot for her kids. She loved them dearly but struggled with the day-to-day responsibilities of being a mum. As she got older, she started to feel guilty about not always being there for them. But in true Nikki fashion, she quickly assuaged that guilt with a flashy present or a gadget bought in Duty Free. It was the thought that counted, right?

Nikki’s storylines were nothing short of a rollercoaster. She first arrived at Bianca’s house after TJ phoned her, and despite initial tensions, she and Bianca surprisingly bonded. That was until Nikki dropped the bombshell that Terry had moved in with several women since their divorce. Classic Nikki! She later returned after another call from TJ, unhappy about living at Bianca’s. She insisted her children should live with her, but TJ preferred to stay. Terry then decided the kids would stay with him for Christmas, and Nikki, never one to miss out, invited herself along. She showed up two days before Christmas with presents, and Terry, perhaps out of sheer exhaustion, agreed to let the kids stay with her.

Nikki’s meddling didn’t stop there. When she found out her son had impregnated Cindy Williams, David Wicks invited her back to the square for a chat. After a heart-to-heart with TJ and some advice from David, she decided to stay in Walford for her children’s sake. But of course, she continued to interfere in Terry and Bianca’s relationship, and even shared a kiss with David. Nikki then jetted off to Acapulco, only to return at Easter, heartbroken after being transferred to the check-in desk at work. She confided in David and tried to kiss him again, but he rebuffed her. Bianca, discovering this, attacked Nikki in the street, pushing her into a pile of rubbish. David also rejected her advances on his wedding day to Carol Jackson, adding to Nikki’s list of romantic misadventures.
