However, when Ollie revealed he was a cop, Jean panicked due to her past misdemeanours. Ollie reassured her, and they shared a kiss. Jean’s worries about her bipolar disorder led to a temporary rift, but Ollie’s research and determination brought them back together.

Their budding romance hit another snag when Jean’s cleaning frenzy made Ollie think she was avoiding their date. Misunderstandings piled up, and Ollie sought advice from Kat Slater, who warned him off. Encouraged by Shirley Carter, Jean tried to reconcile, only to find Ollie planning to retire to Brighton. A farewell party and a cruel joke from Ollie’s friend Frank almost ended things, but Ollie’s heartfelt goodbye convinced Jean to join him.
