Libby Fox, affectionately known as “Squiggle” by her mum, is the brainy and ambitious daughter of Denise Fox and Owen Turner. Libby quickly made a name for herself with her sharp wit and even sharper intellect. Despite her father’s troubled past and her mother’s protective nature, Libby was determined to carve out her own path, balancing her academic aspirations with the inevitable drama that comes with living in Walford.
Her relationship with her father, Owen, was fraught with tension, especially after he tried to kidnap her in a desperate bid to reconnect. Thankfully, Libby had the support of her mum and her half-sister, Chelsea, to help her navigate these turbulent times. She nearly died during one incident, and the unstable Owen went to prison for years of abuse aimed at Denise.
They say opposites attract, with Libby’s academic prowess contrasting sharply with Darren Miller’s more laid-back approach to life, the pair made an unlikely couple. But despite their differences, the pair shared some genuinely sweet moments, and their relationship provided a much-needed dose of young love in the Square. However, like all good soap romances, it wasn’t meant to last, and the two eventually went their separate ways when she discovered he had fathered Heather Trott’s son George.
Libby’s academic achievements were a source of pride for her family, and she eventually earned a place at Oxford University. She has regularly returned to her roots in times of trouble, whether it’s Lucas Johnson trying to ruin lives or her own pregnancy issues. She was last in the Cotswolds, where she had reunited with Darren after years apart.
She may have left the Square to pursue her dreams, but Libby’s legacy lives on, reminding us all that no matter where life takes you, home is where the heart is.
