As the son of the infamous James Willmott-Brown, Josh had some pretty big shoes to fill – or rather, some pretty dark shadows to step out of. He arrived on the scene as a suave and sophisticated employee of Weyland & Co., quickly catching the eye of Lauren Branning. With his charming smile and sharp suits, Josh seemed like the perfect gentleman, but in true Walford fashion, there was more to him than met the eye.

Their office flirtation quickly blossomed into something more, much to the dismay of Lauren’s father, Max Branning. Max’s involvement with Weyland & Co. added a layer of complexity to their relationship, as Josh found himself caught between his loyalty to his family and his feelings for Lauren.

But Josh’s life wasn’t all about romance. His connection to the Willmott-Brown family brought its own set of challenges. As the half-brother of Fi and Luke Browning, Josh had to navigate the treacherous waters of family loyalty and corporate espionage. His father’s sinister plans to take over Albert Square put Josh in a difficult position, forcing him to choose between his family’s ambitions and his own moral compass. Despite his best efforts to stay out of the fray, Josh often found himself drawn into the drama, proving that you can’t escape your family’s legacy.

As tensions between Weyland & Co. and the residents of Albert Square reached a boiling point, Josh stood up to Max, revealing his true feelings about the company’s unethical practices. This act of defiance marked a turning point for Josh, showing that he was willing to stand up for what was right, even if it meant going against his own family. His bravery earned him the respect of many in the Square, even if it did complicate his relationship with Lauren.

Eventually, after going through a fall from the Queen Vic roof and determined to not let her past control her, Lauren couldn’t commit, and silently walked away from Josh and Walford the day of her sister Abi’s funeral. Josh left, broken hearted.
