Ingrid Solberg turned up at Jack Branning’s house looking for a job, albeit on the wrong day, and quickly made an impression by helping his daughter Amy with a chewing gum mishap. Despite her initial blunder, Ingrid’s charm and resourcefulness won Jack over, and she soon became the au pair of the Branning household.

Life as an au pair in Walford was never going to be straightforward though was it? From cooking Norwegian meals that didn’t quite hit the mark to bonding with the kids over pizza, Ingrid’s attempts to fit in were endearing. Her genuine care for the children shone through, especially when she comforted Bernadette Taylor during a tough time.

Her relationship with Jack Branning was a slow burn, filled with will-they-won’t-they moments that kept everyone guessing. But Ingrid’s reluctance to mix business with pleasure led to it fizzling out somewhat. Just when things seemed to be settling down, Ingrid found herself drawn to Keanu Taylor.

But Sharon was the woman for Keanu – and when Rainie, now married to Max Branning moved in, she insisted Ingrid leave and threw her out! Ingrid decided that there were easier jobs and left shortly afterward.
