Lee Carter, the eldest son of Mick and Linda Carter, marched into Albert Square fresh from his stint in the Army. His arrival was marked by saving his great-grandfather Stan from a fire at The Queen Vic – talk about making an entrance!

Lee’s love life was as turbulent as a Walford winter. He had a brief fling with Lucy Beale, which ended in drama (as things often do in the Square), before he set his sights on Whitney Dean. Their relationship was a rollercoaster of emotions, filled with passionate highs and heart-breaking lows. They even tied the knot, but alas, their marriage was as rocky as the Thames on a stormy day.

As a Carter, he was no stranger to the ups and downs of family life though. His bond with his parents, Mick and Linda, was particularly touching. Despite their many arguments and misunderstandings, the love and support they shared were unwavering. Lee’s relationship with his siblings, especially his sister Nancy, was also a key part of his journey. They had their fair share of sibling rivalry, but at the end of the day, blood was thicker than water.

Eventually, the darkness inside Lee became more and more apparent as he struggled with his mental health. Lee’s journey to find help and his eventual departure from Walford to seek a fresh start were both heart-breaking and hopeful. It was a reminder that even in the darkest times, there’s always a glimmer of hope.

Lee’s made brief returns to Walford though and although he’s no longer a regular fixture on the Square, Linda will always want all of her children to return home.
