Finlay’s arrival was marked by the death of his father, Avery, who succumbed to terminal cancer shortly after Finlay and his half-brother, Felix, arrived in Walford. Despite the sombre circumstances, Finlay’s cheeky charm and optimistic outlook quickly endeared him to the residents of the Square, especially since he had a chef’s touch, cooking Caribbean food from a stall from on market.

His business acumen, however, was not the best. He had a knack for getting into amusing predicaments. Whether it was charming the ladies of Walford or finding himself in a friendly rivalry with other market traders, Finlay was, at least, a likeable sort.

His feud with the Panesar family, particularly with Suki and Ravi, however cast a shadow over his fun nature. Threatened by Ravi, Finlay left the Square quickly, leaving his brother slightly confused, but at least leaving the Square in one piece!
