Rebecca Fowler arrived into the world as a complete surprise – even to her mother Sonia, who didn’t even know that Martin Fowler had gotten her pregnant!

Sonia could not cope with the little girl and promptly arranged for adoption processes to start, which of course incurred the wrath of Pauline, who demanded custody.

She didn’t get her wish straight away, but Sonia would regret her decision. When her adoptive parents were killed in a car accident, Rebecca eventually found herself under the care of Martin and Sonia, who had married and gotten their heads together by the time the family left the Square.

A decade later and teenage Bex was a good musician and a good student. But her parents’ divorce and subsequent relationships with other people drove her nuts and her budding romance with Shakil ended with his tragic death! Bex eventually went off to see the world, but came back to say goodbye to her dad at his funeral and took off with mum Sonia and aunt Bianca to see the world!
