If there was anybody who deserved a happy ending in Walford, it was Whitney Dean. The adopted daughter of Bianca Jackson, Whitney had been through the ringer before she even got to the Square. Her dad had died, and Bianca’s other half Tony King, serving time in prison for beating a teenage boy unconscious, had secretly been grooming her since she was 11 and was having an underage affair with the girl.

Once Whitney revealed the truth, she built herself up and started again. Rob lured her into sleeping with his mates. She escaped and built herself up, starting again. She lost her brother Ryan, she miscarried, she married a manic depressive liar, fell for a gay man, lost another love to a serial killer, saw most of her family leave her side and lost another daughter with lover Zack Hudson. She even killed her own stalker, who had lived secretly in her attic! And still she got up and started again.

So it was no surprise when, seeing Britney Wainwright in the same place she had been as a child, Whitney stepped in, applied to take the girl in and set off for a new start, just her and her daughters, Britney and new-born Dolly.

We hope she gets her happy ever after.
