Confident, self-assured and eager to get his own way, no one could say Aaron Monroe didn’t strive for big things. Raised by his father Harvey when his mum disappeared, Aaron felt himself above the rest of society and secured a job in the city, in finance.

He fell in with the wrong crowd and started a life strewn with hate-speech and anti-everything slogans. When Harvey moved the family to Walford, it was partially to save Aaron from himself.

But the far-right group caught up with him and encouraged him back into the fold. He beat a cabbie half to death, watched as his pals put Keegan in hospital and, in the end, planned a bomb attack on the old Arghee Bargee, about to be converted into a Mosque.

The bomb failed to go off and Harvey phoned the police on his son, breaking both their hearts. When Aaron was stabbed while inside, Harvey sat by his bedside. When he was transferred to Newcastle after sentencing, Harvey remained behind.
