Sonia Fowler must look back at her life sometimes and think things were so much easier. She used to be a fun-loving child who played the trumpet, albeit badly, but as an adult, she’s not had the happy ending she always wanted.

Having a child as a teenager, with Martin Fowler of all people, Sonia struggled as a young woman, but blossomed as an adult, finding new ways to live her life for herself and not just for the people around her. It’s her job to do so – as a nurse, she’s top-notch, and as a friend, she’s second to none.

When she met Reiss Colwell, she liked what she saw, perhaps because he was honest and open – sensible and undramatic. But she was wrong. He became a killer and for months she languished in a cell!

Eventually, after Reiss fabricated evidence and smuggled it to the jury, Sonia was released. Weeks later she discovered Reiss had locked her sister up and killed his wife. As the Vic literally tumbled down around her, Sonia, trapped and with the ‘aid’ of Bianca, gave birth to Julia as Reiss, still trying to get to her, was crushed by a bathtub.

Weeks later, as the press started to gather, Sonia had the chance to go away with her biological dad Terry. But Carol had gotten rid of him for a reason, and Sonia and Bianca retaliated; they locked him in the garage and left for Bali as intended!
