Name: Sharon Watts
First Appeared: 19th February 1985
Played by: Letitia Dean

The original ‘Princess’ of Albert Square, Sharon Watts was the adopted daughter of Queen Vic icons Den and Angie Watts. It may have given her local icon status, but also all of the headaches, as she watched her parents’ marriage disintegrate at an alarming rate, as she was caught in the middle of their myriad schemes and slanging matches!

Sharon married a man to protect her, Grant Mitchell, local psycho-in-hiding, who drove her to flee the country to America in 1995, but not before provoking the infamous ‘Sharongate’ story and beginning a life-long obsession to be Mrs. Phil Mitchell instead.

She returned in 2001 and secured both happiness and sorrow as she found Dennis Rickman and lost him in a short space of time (careless, Sharon…) and left again in 2006, grieving and pregnant.

She settled back into Walford in 2012 and has been at the centre of all the drama since! From marriage (Phil, at last), to affairs (Keanu), catfights (Kat, Sam etc) to friendship (Linda, Ian), Sharon has seen it all since she’s been home – and that’s without mentioning her penchant for losing potential husbands or her recent conspiracy to pervert the course of justice by hiding a dead body!

Just a normal day for Sharon Watts then!
