Truth be told, Penny Branning is still somewhat of an enigma. The eldest daughter of Jack Branning from his first marriage, Penny’s life was changed when Jack’s family were targeted by gangsters that Jack had set up and she ended up being the unintended target, with a drive by resulting in Penny losing the use of her legs.

Her mother took her to Paris at a young age, and as a result we didn’t see her grow up. Jack kept in touch, but Penny remained away from London, preferring to live the high life in Paris. When some dodgy mates attempted to use her as a drug mule, Penny didn’t exactly balk at a life of crime. But don’t be fooled: she let cousin Lauren take the fall. She can be crafty and sneaky – anything to get what she wants. She’s like her dad that way.

Now Penny is on the outs with her family and neighbours, being blamed for the crush at Peggy’s nightclub, when it’s step-sister Chelsea to blame!

Heaven help Chelsea when it all comes out – we don’t think we’ve seen Penny’s Branning temper yet…
