It’s not very often that someone comes to Albert Square and is almost universally hated by all. In fact, it’s a very small list. And right at the top was Nish Panesar.

He was a bully, a rapist and coercive manipulator. He was sexist, bigoted, violent, selfish and murderous. He was even willing to sell his own kids down the river to quell his narcissistic passions!

He spent a long time off the scene, imprisoned for murder – he was jealous of Suki’s friendship with a male neighbour and he impulsively burned the house down.

And that’s where Nish went wrong. He thought with his emotions and not his logic. He misunderstood Suki’s affections for the neighbour – he should have been looking at the wife. But a flaw in his armour? That he should not see something so obvious? He wasn’t having that!

But in the end, the women had him. He may have discovered the truth about the events of Christmas 2023, but finally, after some words from granddaughter Avani, Nish gave himself up to the police, confessing to the crime of murdering Keanu in exchange for Suki’s life-long commitment. Unable to let Suki move on with her life and dying of a heart condition, Nish escaped justice and stalked his ex and, on the day of her wedding to Eve Unwin, he struck – only for son Ravi to push him off a balcony to his death below!
