To be the land lady of the Queen Vic you have to made of strong stuff. And current lady of the manor, Linda Carter certainly is that – either because she’s had to be, or because she’s drinking too much of it!

Linda’s had a rough, well, decade. Moving to the Square for a new start in 2013, Linda did not see all the drama and disaster life in Walford would bring – which is good because then she would have turned and walked away and we would have been robbed of a woman who has, quite simply, become a Walford icon.

She’s seen her children through their issues, and lived with her fair share: Dean’s assault, Mick’s drowning, alcoholism, cancer, and the worst, her mother Elaine, but coming out on the other side of it is what Linda does best.

But after the events of Christmas 2023 when she killed Keanu Taylor to protect best friend Sharon and the Six women covered up their crime, Linda started to unravel. She couldn’t see the light at the end. The guilt ate her up and eventually a vision of a painful death haunted her. She went to rehab, where hopefully she’d find some help…
