Name: Jean Slater
First Appeared: 16th December 2004
Played by: Gillian Wright

Despite her struggles with her bi-polar disorder, Jean Slater has been an active presence on Albert Square for twenty years now, adding to the long list of strong Slater women – and Jean may be the strongest of them all.

Having passed her mental health issues down to her children, Jean constantly strives to be the best she can be, even if it comes to the detriment of her safety. She’s brave (she climbed the Millennium Dome), funny (can you imagine her on Googlebox?) and loyal (think lioness times one thousand) to those she considers special.

And since she’s got such a big heart, that usually means everyone!
